We are currently recruiting for a Tooling and Consumables Support and a Field Service Engineer.

Tooling & Consumables Support

About the job

In the Tooling & Consumables Support role you will be required to provide support for the Tooling Sales Engineers and Vending & Stock Supervisor to ensure that customers are supported through the entire tooling and consumable purchase or vend process.

Main duties

  • Liaise with Tooling Sales Engineers for quotes required for customers maintaining tight turnaround times.
  • Provide quotes for tooling and consumables as requested by customers.
  • Actively manage the customer database for tooling and consumables.
  • Manage incoming customer vending stock requests, using Sage.
  • Order replacement stock from suppliers.
  • Monitor internal consignment stock - managing levels and reporting discrepancies.
  • Invoice customers for the tooling and consumable items delivered to vending sites.
  • Monitor customer price lists, using Excel and CSV files to regularly update item prices.
  • Actively chase quotes produced for customers when required.
  • Contact customers as required to generate new business opportunities.
  • Provide office and warehouse cover as required.
  • Provide assistance with packing and basic warehouse tasks.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding delivery times etc.
  • Support the Vending & Stock Supervisor with replenishing Ficep UK tooling and consumables stock levels.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by Ficep management.

Field Service Engineer

About the job

As Field Service Engineer at Ficep UK you will provide the highest levels of customer service to commercial clients across the broad range of Ficep Steel Processing CNC machines.

Main duties:

  • Carry out field installations, preventative maintenance, equipment health checks/site surveys and repairs across the broad range of Ficep’s Steel Processing CNC machines and agency machines.
  • Liaise with site contacts, in particular conducting a call-ahead to the customer prior to site arrival, updating the office on work completed and outstanding before leaving customer site. The identification of new equipment opportunities including spares, service contracts, service work and any other service opportunities.
  • Work with colleagues to improve and feedback on general team efficiencies, for example, first time fix rates, recalls, fix timescales and machine activity.
  • Investigate, diagnose and rectify any customer equipment faults in a timely manner.
  • Report any Health & Safety issues to a responsible person at the customer site at the point of discovery including documenting on the Big Change System including the name and position of the person you reported it to.
  • Ensure continual accuracy of data inputted in the Big Change Service Management System including the capture of a responsible client signature.
  • Identify opportunities for minor repairs and spares and highlight these to the client as recommendations. Capture any material and labour requirements to enable a formal commercial proposal.
  • Provide technical support if and when needed and operator training to the customer.
  • Provide feedback to assist Ficep in maintaining good customer relations and raise complaints where necessary and feedback sales opportunities.
  • To adhere to and support the company Health & Safety policy.
  • Attend all service meetings.
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested by the UK Service Manager/Ficep management.

Essential requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have service engineering experience and a clean driving licence. It is also essential to have the following:

  • Electro-mechanical and PLC fault-finding experience
  • An engineering qualification and at least 1 year field engineering experience
  • As a machine Tool Field Service Engineer, you must be IT literate and able to work on your own initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills, good timekeeping, hardworking and tenacious to achieve results
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software would be an advantage, as would a good split of mechanical and electrical experience.
